Heather Jim began her studies at Connecticut College in 1994. There she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude with distinction in architectural studies in 1997. In August of 1999 she began her studies in clinical health psychology at the Ohio State University. During graduate school she has pursued research interests in the topic of coping, benefit finding, and meaning in life following cancer diagnosis and recurrence. She has pursued clinical opportunities with patients suffering chronic illness and traumatic brain injury. Heather's research began with a first year project on the topic of coping with cancer recurrence, she then completed her Masters thesis, entitled Meaning and coping in breast cancer patients, and her dissertation, entitled Meaning is a mediator of functioning and distress in cancer patients. She completed her internship at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida. She is currently completing a postdoctoral fellowship in behavioral oncology research at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida
